London’s Echo Lake give an arresting take on the dronier side of psychedelia’s pop frontier with their Young Silence EP. 'Everything Is Real' is a medley of chiming chorals, strangely metallic sleigh bells and string hit snares, recalling a pre-Sub Pop Beach House or expansive Cocteau Twins. The rawer side of My Bloody Valentine is visible beneath the ambient melodies of 'Young Silence' and 'Buried At Sea' whilst the driving 'In Dreams' is immersive and gorgeous as the name suggests. This is the five piece's debut release after their initial online demos were acclaimed by Pitchfork, the Fader and Gorilla vs. Bear in the autumn of 2010. Limited vinyl release.
Tracklist: "Sunday Evening", "In Dreams", "Everything Is Real", "Memory Lapses", "Young Silence" and "Buried At Sea".
