More of the jangling, shimmering propulsion that’s become The Zebras’ trademark, though with a greater depth and broader scope to the writing. Main vocalist Jeremy Cole remains in equal parts cheeky and oblique on songs like opener “You Look Ready” and classic-to-be “I Have Decided”, while new member Greg Brady rings in with the warm and concise “Cumbersome”, proving this band’s full range is as yet uncharted. Memorable closer “The Nightmare” recalls The Go-Betweens at their most tender. All this in mind, the focus rarely strays far from the guitars - most songs on this album contain at least twenty-four strings’ worth!
